Sky moved to Nelson from Japan with her parents following the earthquake and subsequent tsunami in 2011. She cycles to school with her dad each day down Waimea Rd. which currently does not have cycle facilities. Note that it's currently illegal to cycle on footpaths if your wheels are bigger than 35.5cm, which most children's bikes are.
